Why Indian resumes fail ATS
- Two-column templates get read in the wrong order
- Photos & tables turn into blank space
- Contact info in the header gets silently dropped
- US-built checkers penalise CGPA, DOB & fresher formats they don't understand โ we don't

Frequently asked questions
What is an ATS and why does my resume need to pass it?
An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software companies use to filter and rank resumes before a recruiter ever opens them โ used by most mid-size and large companies hiring in India today. It extracts your resume's text and matches it against the job's keywords. If your resume's layout confuses that extraction (two columns, tables, a photo), you can get silently filtered out even if you're a strong fit.
Is this ATS resume checker really free?
Yes โ unlimited checks, no sign-up, no card required. Most US-built checkers (like Jobscan) cap you at 1-2 free scans a month. We don't, because we built this specifically for Indian job seekers who are iterating on their resume many times during a job search.
Does this work for freshers with no work experience?
Yes โ this is one of the main gaps in US-built ATS checkers. If we detect you have no "Experience" section but do have Projects or Internships, we switch to fresher-mode scoring: your college projects and internships are scored on their own merit instead of being penalised for "missing experience."
Will it penalise me for CGPA, DOB, or a photo on my resume?
It depends on what you're applying for โ and this is the core difference from every other checker. For private-sector applications, personal details (DOB, father's name, photo) are flagged as unnecessary and slightly risky (unconscious bias). For Government and PSU applications, these details are often expected, so switching the "Govt/PSU" toggle changes that advice instead of blanket-penalising it like US tools do. CGPA and Indian education formats are never flagged as a problem either way.
What file formats are supported?
PDF and DOCX (Word), up to 5 MB. Scanned resumes (photos of a printed page) won't work well โ ATS software can't read those either, which is itself one of our findings if we detect very little extractable text.
Is my resume stored anywhere?
No. Your file is parsed entirely in memory and never written to disk โ not even temporarily. Nothing is saved on our servers, and there's no account or login.
